Values

When Rep. Donohoe talks about 'values,' he's talking about the ethics and values we hold dear as American citizens and as responsible citizens of Kansas.

The erosion of family values is having a profound effect on the legislature in Kansas, as the Kansas National Education Association wields more power over its subjects in the education lobby. Trouble is, the KNEA's values don't align with those of most Kansas residents -- and certainly not those in Shawnee or the 39th District.

The NEA and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) almost always endorse far-left candidates. The Kansas NEA apparently doesn't subscribe to the U.S. Constitution or Bill of Rights; that is why it publishes its own 'rules' - called "Resource for Social Justice Activists and Organizers" called "Putting Our Values to Work."

In this "values" rulebook, the NEA spends far more time grooming social activists than it does talking about standards for teacher or student achievement. The "rulebook" encourages activists to promote the Harvey Weinstein movie, "Bully" and admits their "organization exists in order to gain and exercise power."

The NEA's power grab of "values" endorses former Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder for opposing photo I.D.s and "furthering the activities of the United Nations." Not the United States -- the United Nations.

There's even an "article" of their rules that states: "Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses."  This is the National Education Association, folks, not the National Marriage Association.

Want more rules? Their #1 resource recommendation is Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals."

The NEA pulls my opponent's strings
Unfortunately, my opponent would act in lock-step with the NEA and the KNEA and their radical 'values.' He supports the NEA's relentless battles against Kansas taxpayers in the Kansas Supreme Court. Does he realize that, if elected by the people, his own legislative authority would be trumped by the Supreme Court's mandates for an endless stream of funding without accountability?

The teachers' union cares more about power than representing teachers who earnestly wish to improve student outcomes and their own effectiveness.

Perhaps that's why 20,000 teachers just left the Nevada NEA teachers' union. Check it out.

Like Rep. Donohoe says when he talks with residents door-to-door, "If we lose our values, we lose our country and our state."
